Terms of Service

By creating an account, inviting candidates, taking an assessment, or using any part of the Strata platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of the platform.

To use Strata you must:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
• Comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws

One account serves both surfaces: hiring and being assessed. You are responsible for your account and agree to:

• Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information
• Update your information promptly if it changes
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

Strata reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

4.1 Candidates. By starting an assessment you commit to completing it in good faith and as yourself. Using the built-in AI assistant is expected and never penalized; it is part of what is being assessed. You may not have someone else take an assessment for you, attempt to break out of the assessment sandbox, or attempt to extract scoring or seeded-error details from the assistant.

4.2 Hiring organizations. Strata produces a recommendation with the evidence attached; a human on your team makes the hiring decision, and overrides are logged. You are responsible for using reports in compliance with the employment laws that apply to you and for not using the platform to discriminate unlawfully.

4.3 Intellectual property. Candidates retain ownership of their submissions. By participating, you grant Strata a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process and display your work to the organization that invited you, and to use it in anonymized, aggregate form to improve and validate the platform.

4.4 Code of conduct. All users must behave professionally and respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, or misconduct may result in suspension or disqualification.

• Submitting plagiarized, infringing, or unlawful content
• Attempting unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts
• Using automation to impersonate a human taking an assessment
• Circumventing the controlled AI assistant with outside models during a stage that disallows it
• Disrupting or interfering with the operation of the platform
• Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation

Building workflows and designing assessments is free. Hiring organizations pay per candidate-node consumed: a charge occurs only when a candidate actually starts a stage, priced by tier. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. Strata scores and recommendations are decision-support information, not a guarantee of any candidate’s future performance, and not the hiring decision itself. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Strata, its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including hiring decisions made by organizations using Strata reports.

We may modify these terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting to the platform. Continued use of Strata after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion for conduct that violates these terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
